Indwara z’umugongo ni imwe mu ndwara zikomeje kwiyongera muri sosiyete, cyane cyane mu bantu bakuze ariko bikaba byanagaragara no mu rubyiruko bitewe n’imiterere y’akazi.
Dr Hakizimana Mussa, ukora muri Integrity Health Group, ivuriro ryita kandi rikanavura abafite uburwayi bw’ingingo, asobanura uko izi ndwara zigaragara no ku buryo bwo kuzirinda no kuzikira.
Dr Hakizimana atangira avuga ko indwara z’umugongo zigenda zigaragara cyane ku bantu b’ingeri zitandukanye.
Ati: “Duhura n’abantu benshi bafite ibibazo by’uburwayi bw’umugongo, indwara z’umugongo ni nyinshi cyane. Akenshi zifata abantu bakuze, zikunze gufata abantu kuva ku myaka 40 kuzamura, wenda ku myaka yo hasi nka 25, bagira nk’ibyo umuntu yavukanye. Ariko nanone abari mu myaka yo hasi birimo kugaragara ko barimo kurwara kubera ubwoko bw’akazi bakora, ni ukuvuga ngo niba wicara amasaha menshi cyangwa ugahagarara amasaha menshi mu kazi ukora, cyangwa ugaterura imyaka yose ushobora kurwara umugongo.”
Ubu burwayi rero bushobora gukira neza iyo bwitaweho hakiri kare, ndetse hari n’inzira zitandukanye zikoreshwa mu kubuvura. Dr Hakizimana ashimangira ko hari uburyo bwizewe kandi bunoze bwo kuvura umugongo.
Ati: “Cyane birakira, bakaguha n’uburyo bwo kwirinda no gukomeza kurwana nabyo ukabana nabyo nta bubabare ufite. Umugongo uravugwa ugakira, ahumbwo abantu ubanza batizi ko umugongo uvurwa ugakira, baragenda bakicara nyine bakazaza byararengeranye.”
Mu rwego rwo kurushaho kunoza ubuvuzi bw’indwara z’umugongo, Dr Hakizimana avuga ko mu Rwanda hariho uburyo bushya bwo kuvura bita Aquatic Therapy (aho umurwayi avurirwa mu mazi). Ubu buryo bufite umwihariko wo gutanga ibisubizo byihuse kandi bikagira ingaruka nziza ku murwayi.
Ati: “Ubu turimo kuzana ibyo bita Aquatic therapy (kuvurira umuntu mu mazi) bigira vuba vuba cyane kandi bigakiza umugongo neza cyane.”
Mu gusoza, Dr Hakizimana yibutsa abantu ko kwirinda no kwita ku mugongo hakiri kare ari ingenzi, cyane cyane ku bantu bakora akazi gahoraho k’umwanya munini bicaye cyangwa bahagaze.
